Quit Saying Rest in Peace

    Last night Lisa Marie Presley passed away into eternity.  My mind wonders if she knew Jesus.  When finding out she went into cardiac arrest, I began praying that she would have the chance to choose him before she died.  When I hear someone dies, the first question I ask is did they have a relationship with Jesus Christ. That one question determines everything on how I deal with the death of that person.  If they DID have a relationship with Jesus Christ then I can rejoice, because their life has just begun.  I will miss them but I will see them again.  If They DID NOT know Jesus or denied him, that breaks me because then I will never be able to see them again.  

    Today So many people drive around with car windows decorated with the name of a loved one and it says Rest in Peace.  Another phrase is Fly High, or Now Heaven's Angel.  Rappers are being shot all the time and their lives are lived with the complete absence of God, or they live a life with a version of their own god.  All their friends then talk about how they are in heaven and tell them Rest in Peace.  I can't help but see that person in the hell they chose screaming and begging God for another chance.  How many souls yell for Jesus to save them?  Meanwhile the enemy laughs and tortures them.  Taunting them that they made their choice, and they no longer have that chance.  

    Hell is very real, and it is a terrible place. It was created for satan and the angels that rebelled against God.  It is a place where demons will also spend eternity.  It was created for them, but the moment we rebelled against God that became the place many choose and have chosen to spend eternity.  Hell is the one place that has the complete absence of God presence.  Earth is corrupted but right now it has good in it because God's blessing is still on this earth.  A child's laughter, joy, beauty, love, peace, and hope, forgiveness, and mercy, those are all aspects of the goodness of God.  Sin created pain, death, fear, selfishness, hate, rage, deception. Hell is total darkness.  It is filled with weeping and gnashing teeth.  Pain is so bad your teeth gnash. Worms eternally eat you.  The fire never dies.  It is a place that you never want to experience, and the people that have it changes them. They say it's terrifying.  They also say that they know they deserve to be there.  Their spirit knows.  They know Jesus was the way, the truth, and the life.

    Many say why would a loving God send anyone to hell..... He doesn't we do.  We choose it.  God continuously offered a way.  He constantly warned of spiritual death, but generation after generation have gotten further and further away from God and denying the power of Jesus Christ.  God provided a way out and that is, he sent himself and pay a debt we could not.  He became our sacrifice. He conquered death.  He is alive!! He lives now glorified.  He is real and very active in the lives of people who choose him and HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM.  The enemy does not want you to believe or understand who Jesus is.  If you study the story of creation which many cultures have the same type of stories, but they are corrupted by the enemies lies.  The moment Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they required a blood sacrifice of innocent blood.  The Bible states that life is in the blood, and it reminded the Israelites the devastating results of sin and selfishness.  It was a symbol of what God's plan of redemption was.  The moment Adam and Eve fell from grace God revealed a plan for salvation.  That was Jesus. 

    Jesus preached about hell more than any other thing, but he also contrasted it with the Kingdom Of God.  Why would the one thing Jesus preach about more than anything be avoided in some of today's churches?  Why did He preach about it so much? Because he loves us and doesn't want anyone to go there.  If we live a life defiant of Jesus and who he is and live how we want, who sends you to hell?  You or God?  Your choices and your decisions led you there.  You go to eternity where YOU CHOOSE your citizenship.  Jesus offers the free gift of salvation.  He paid the price for us.  When we choose him our citizenship becomes Heaven with God the Father.  Jesus is the door to heaven.  There is no other way. 

     The enemy causes many to doubt and disbelieve, but he also convinces that you're a good person and the deeds decide where you go.   There are many versions of a savior that are almost like Jesus but lack one thing his truth and the death and resurrection! The enemy deceives some that they have many chances, and they can achieve heaven.  Many modern "christians"  believe that they can live any way they want and then they go to church on Sunday and whoop and holler, and they have secured their eternity in heaven.  Many do not see the need for repentance.  Many have a distorted and corrupted view of God.  Many people are their own god.  Money is their god.  Fame and popularity are their god.  Family is their god.  That is where they place their hope.  Why do we turn from something that is so simple and offers us eternal life and freedom in Jesus Christ?  Because it means we have to die to our wants and desires.   We want what we feel is truth.  We do not understand the greatness of our God, our savior, our creator.  When we follow our own gospel and our own truth it will only lead to destruction.  Many do not see the need for Jesus but deep down they know something is missing.  They want something more.  

    There is difference between a RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS and claiming you know him.  Our actions and words will reflect where our heart and citizenship are.  Our hearts are either for him, or against him.  So many people think they have time to repent or time to turn to Jesus, but we are not guaranteed the next minute or second.  So, if people do not know Him how they can rest in peace?  Does saying rest in peace make YOU feel better?  Are we so deceived that we think that our choices without the redemption of Jesus do not have consequences?  Many can claim Jesus but mix it with other beliefs and think that is the truth and that secures their place in heaven.  Jesus is THE ONLY WAY.  He warns us we cannot serve 2 masters, only him.  Rest is only in Jesus.  Peace is only in Jesus.  Belief in him.  A RELATIONSHIP with him.  It is a love relationship.  He changes us to prepare us for our eternal glory in him.  Only in Christ can you rest in peace.  Anyone who does not know him is not resting in peace but torture, eternal torture.  God loves you and wants you to come to him.  He wants to restore you so you can be who he created you to be, and it will be beautiful.  Trust me you don't want to miss him or heaven.  It will be the most awesome thing you have ever experienced.

  Unveiling of the Heart By Liz King Our hearts reveal a lot about us.  Our actions and words come directly from the condition of the heart.  I’ve felt strongly that I am to write about the heart.  As I have been deep in God’s word the last few months for a podcast I am a part of, I have seen one constant theme throughout the scriptures that we study, our heart condition.  Jesus tells us to guard our hearts, to judge the fruits of the heart, and that in our words and actions our hearts will be revealed. By Liz King Pride is something every human being deals with.  It was the downfall of Lucifer and the downfall of man.  Every sin is rooted in pride.  God clearly states throughout the Bible he hates pride. He despises the prideful and haughty. Pride is the inward elevation of oneself.  It is someone who is reliant on oneself and resists the submission to God.  In Job 41 pride is linked with the demonic sea monster Leviathan.  Pride is also linked with things we may not consider, like worry, unwillingness to listen to someone’s criticism, the need to be constantly affirmed or recognized, thinking you are right and others are wrong, lack of self-worth, arrogance, and fear. Many people, if you asked if they were prideful, would immediately respond, “I’m not prideful!” That is an immediate sign of pride.  Many do not consider themselves to be prideful, while others parade around with pride as a banner and their heads held...
