My Struggle With Mercy

Image
My Struggle With Mercy By Liz King      There have been many things I have had to work through in my life as a Christian. Anger, bitterness, stubbornness, self-worth, selfishness, but right now the hardest one for me is mercy. We grow up hearing about the love of Christ, his grace and mercy. In reality though, how much do we really understand or put it into practice. How much do we exercise our mercy muscles? Are we trained to the point it becomes natural for us? Mercy is when God doesn’t give us what we deserve.  A big thing I have gotten that I don’t deserve through Jesus is forgiveness, a debt  that has been paid on the cross. God loves us, every one of us! He pursues us, reveals Himself to us daily. He even says seek and you will find but a lot of us are unwilling to look because we believe our wisdom is superior to His nature. This love, forgiveness, and compassion are available to all of us if we have hearts willing to believe and accept Him! He giv...

Who Have You Made God To Be?

Who Have You Made God to BE? By Liz King        One of the most interesting ways God has started speaking to me is through dreams.     One dream I had recently was where I was in my garage and someone I knew was handing me things and one was a hollow plastic Jesus bust on the cross with the crown of thorns and bloody. I took the bust but I hated it and put it away on the shelf.     The interpretation from God. This is what the church has made me. Then this revelation came to me. “The church has made God in THEIR image instead of the church being made in His image!”       The church has now become where they pick and choose their god by picking what they agree with in the Bible and discarding what they don’t like in the Bible, making Jesus fit their desires, wants and needs. Many do not believe the Bible as a whole, they believe it’s just a book that is outdated but has some good lessons. They do not see it as God’s holy wo...

Why is God Jealous??

Why is God Jealous? By Liz King      Why is God Jealous?? Some may not understand this. A lot of people who do not know God may think how dare He be jealous. Well, as my relationship with him grows, I know HE has every right to be!!  After delivering the Israelites out of slavery, God began telling His people who HE was. He Gave them laws and commandments to protect them from destroying themselves and their relationship with Him.  “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments” ( Exod. 20:4-6 ).     God has feelings.  He is, the best I ca...
